Teaching Positions 2009
Applications are invited from energetic and committed teachers for two full time and one part time (0.6 FTE) position in combinations of the following discipline areas:
English ESL Religious Education
Maths Science Physical Education
Health Visual Arts Visual Communication & Design
A Maths / Science position is also available for Semester 1 2009.
A strong interest in Middle Years pedagogy, ‘Habits of Mind’, Literacy across the Curriculum and the use of digital technologies in teaching would be a distinct advantage.
The positions are initially for the 2009 school year with the possibility of being ongoing.
Applications from primary trained teachers and graduates are welcomed.
Position of Leadership: House Leader
The College has a vertical house structure based around six Houses, each with 90 students from Years 7 – 10. The House Leader, in conjunction with five pastoral care teachers, has primary pastoral responsibility for the care of students in the House.
POL: 1.5
TIME: 0.2 FTE
This position is offered in conjunction with the above teaching methods and would be a permanent appointment.

Careers / VET
This position is offered as a full time position in conjunction with the methods listed above, or as a part time (0.2 FTE) position.
Non teacher applicants would be considered for the part time position.
In a Years 7 – 10 College, Careers Education and VET are mainly focussed at Years 9 and 10. The role involves working with the Humanities Doman leader to develop an effective Careers Education program for Years 9 and 10, as well as conducting a series of Careers Awareness Raising activities and working one to one with students on developing their future pathways.
At the moment the College has only a limited number of students taking VET. It is envisaged that this will grow in the next few years and the time allocation to this role will increase in line with this.
The Careers Co Ordinator works with staff to prepare Year 10 students for Work Experience, however, the work experience program is co-ordinated by a Work Experience placement officer.
